What this is — and is not
This is the public description of Zonus Surprise (in Italian: Zonus Sorpresa) as we intend it at launch in Milan, September 2026.
It is not a prize you can claim from this website. It is not a lottery ticket. Joining the waitlist does not, by itself, put you in a draw.
Italian prize-promotion law (including D.P.R. 430/2001) may require filings, a notary, a bond, or an official regulation before any prize is awarded. If that applies, the official regulation will be published before launch and will prevail over this page on any conflicting point. Until that document exists, nobody has won, and nobody is owed a covered tab.
Who it is for
Designed for university students in Milan who use Zonus at participating partners.
Waitlist members are eligible from day one of launch, once the app is live and they meet the student checks the product will require.
You must have legal capacity to take part in a promotion under Italian law. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must consent where the law asks for it. Zonus and partner staff may refuse a redemption that is clearly not a student use of the product.
How you enter
No purchase is required to join the waitlist.
Entry into Surprise, as designed, happens when you complete a genuine QR redemption at a partner: scan on the table for the menu, or at the till for the bill, unlock the offer, and finish the visit in the ordinary way.
Fake scans, self-dealing, staff collusion, or redemptions that never become a real order do not count. We will say so in the app if we void an entry.
If the official regulation requires a free-entry postal or digital method, it will be written there. We will not hide it.
How covering works
Selections are random among valid redemptions in a period we will define (daily, weekly, or another window published in-app).
We may cover the whole tab. The public examples on this site — a struck-through €116 becoming €0 — are illustrations of the mechanic, not a guarantee of that amount, and not a catalogue of what will be covered.
The range we talk about is honest: from a €1 coffee to an iPhone. That means small tabs and rare, larger covered amounts may exist. It does not mean every winner gets a phone. It does not mean we cover a tab you have not redeemed.
If we reimburse, the design is: within 48 hours of a qualifying covered visit, using the method we will publish (in-app credit, partner void, or transfer). Timing may slip for banks, partners or fraud checks — we will not use that as a game.
What we will not cover
Tips you added outside the bill, illegal goods, already-comped checks, or a tab that was not redeemed through Zonus.
Visits that break partner house rules, or abuse (multiple same-second scans, invented totals).
Taxes on a prize, if a prize is later classified that way — we will say who accounts for what in the official rules.
Odds
Odds depend on how many valid redemptions sit in the same window. We will not invent a fake percentage on a poster. When the official rules exist, they will include whatever the law requires on probability and prize value.
If you are covered
We may ask to mention the moment (first name, neighbourhood, a line of copy). We will not force a photoshoot. If we need a consent for a campaign, we will ask.
Changes and shutdown
Until launch, we may refine this page as the product firms up. After launch, material changes to an official contest will follow the official regulation.
We may pause Surprise if a partner, a city rule, or fraud requires it. We will not cancel a cover we have already confirmed to you in the product without a legal reason.
Law
Italian law. Consumer protections stay. This page does not waive rights you cannot waive.
