Your data, treated like a guest.

Zonus is a membership for living Milan. To do that well we handle a little information about you — never more than we need, and never as something we sell.

Who we are

This policy is issued by Zonus (“Zonus”, “we”, “us”). For these pages, Zonus means the operator of the Zonus brand and of https://www.zonus.it and related properties.

Zonus is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. Seat: Milan, Italy. General: info@zonus.it. Partnerships: partnership@zonus.it. Student support: support@zonus.it.

If a company registration, VAT number or DPO contact is published later, it will appear here. Until then, write to us at the address above — that is the official channel.

What this policy covers

It covers zonus.it and the waitlist, journal, about and legal pages on this domain. It does not, by itself, cover the future Zonus app, partner venues, or business.zonus.it, which may have their own notices when they go live.

The app is planned to launch in Milan in September 2026. When it does, we will update this policy or publish an in-app notice before collecting anything new.

What we collect

We collect only what the product actually needs.

  • Waitlist: email address, language (EN/IT), the page you joined from, the time of joining, and a record that you asked to be added.
  • Technical: IP address, browser type, device and basic server logs, for security, fraud prevention and to keep the site up.
  • Preferences stored on your device: language, colour theme, cookie choices, and optional journal checklists.
  • Messages you send us: if you email info@zonus.it, partnership@zonus.it or support@zonus.it, we keep what you write so we can reply.
  • We do not ask for payment data on this website. We do not run account passwords here. We do not scrape social profiles to build the waitlist.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

Italian and EU law (GDPR) require a lawful basis for each use. Ours are simple.

PurposeLegal basis
Add you to the waitlist and send launch news you asked forConsent (art. 6.1.a)
Reply to a message you sent usPre-contract or legitimate interest (art. 6.1.b / 6.1.f)
Run, secure and debug the websiteLegitimate interest (art. 6.1.f)
Remember language, theme and cookie choicesConsent and/or strictly necessary storage
Comply with law, defend a claim, keep recordsLegal obligation (art. 6.1.c)
Optional analytics or marketing, if you switch them onConsent (art. 6.1.a)

The waitlist

Joining is free. You type an email. We store it so we can tell you when Zonus opens in Milan, and nothing you did not ask for.

You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to info@zonus.it with the same address. We will stop launch emails. If the law lets us keep a minimal suppression record so we do not email you by mistake, we will.

The waitlist is not a purchase, not a prize draw entry by itself, and not a paid membership.

Cookies and similar technology

We use a small set of cookies and local storage. Strictly necessary items run so the site works. Analytics and marketing stay off until you accept them in the banner.

Details, names, durations and how to change your mind are in the Cookie Policy: https://www.zonus.it/en/cookies.

Who we share it with

We do not sell lists. We do not rent emails. We do not hand the waitlist to partner venues.

We use processors who help us operate the site, under contracts that bind them to GDPR:

  • Hosting and delivery of zonus.it (currently Vercel).
  • Waitlist intake (currently Supabase, via a dedicated function).
  • Email infrastructure if and when we send launch messages.
  • Fonts that may be served by Google Fonts — your browser requests a stylesheet; an IP address may be processed by that provider to deliver type.

Partner businesses see you only if, later, you redeem in their venue through Zonus. That is a product moment, not a waitlist export.

If a public authority lawfully asks, we may disclose what we must. We will not volunteer more.

How long we keep it

Waitlist emails: until you ask to be removed, or until 24 months after launch communications end — whichever comes first — unless we must keep a shorter or longer record by law.

Support emails: up to 24 months after the last useful reply, unless a dispute is open.

Security logs: typically 12 months, unless we need them to investigate abuse.

Cookie consent records: 12 months, then we will ask again.

Device preferences (theme, language, checklists): until you clear them in the browser.

International transfers

Some processors may store or access data outside the EEA. Where that happens we rely on an adequacy decision or on Standard Contractual Clauses, plus whatever extra safeguards the transfer needs.

We will not send your waitlist email to a random third country for marketing. That is not the product.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or port your data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it. Withdrawing does not make past lawful processing unlawful.

Write to info@zonus.it. Say which right you want to use and which email we should look up. We may need to verify it is you. We will answer within one month, or tell you if the law allows a short extension.

You can complain to the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Rome, www.garanteprivacy.it). We would rather fix it with you first.

Age

Zonus is built for university students in Milan. This website is not directed at children under 14. If you are under the digital-consent age in Italy (16, unless a parent agrees), do not join the waitlist without that agreement.

If we learn we hold an email from a child without valid consent, we will delete it.

How we protect it

Transport is encrypted (HTTPS). Access to waitlist tools is limited to people who operate Zonus. We do not publish raw emails. No security is perfect; if we ever have a breach that the law says we must tell you about, we will.

When this policy changes

We will update the date at the top (22 August 2026 is the current one). If we start collecting something materially new — for example in the app — we will say so clearly, and ask for consent again where the law requires it.
